What Ghatna is

Ghatna lets people report and follow safety incidents near them: they record short clips at the scene, people nearby confirm or dispute what's posted, and others get alerts.

Ghatna is not an emergency service and doesn't alert the police, fire brigade or ambulance. If anyone is in danger, call 112 first.

What you see on Ghatna is posted by members of the public. We can't promise it's accurate or complete.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older.

One account per person, with your own mobile number. Your name must be your real name.

Keep your phone and account secure; you are responsible for what is posted from it.

What you agree to (the pledge)

Only post what you see yourself, recorded live in the app.

Never put yourself or anyone else in danger to film.

Don't post anything false or misleading, and don't share anyone's personal details (phone numbers, Aadhaar numbers, addresses, or anything that identifies a victim or a child).

No harassment, hate, threats, incitement to violence, sexual content or anything illegal.

Don't try to get around our limits or checks, use automated tools, or pretend to be someone else.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You allow Ghatna to store it, show it to other users, translate and summarise it, and share it as part of the service (for example, alerts and shared links).

Clips, posts, chat and your username are public to other signed-in users. Your name and phone number are never shown.

You can delete your own posts at any time (••• on the post), except chat messages, which can't be deleted. If other people added to an incident, or it was confirmed or widely discussed, deleting it removes your clips, updates and name, and the incident stays up for others. Clips are deleted after 30 days. The Privacy policy says how long copies are kept.

Moderation

We may hide or remove content, limit alerts about it, or suspend or ban accounts that break these terms or the law. Some checks are automatic; decisions to remove content or ban accounts are made by people.

A ban applies to the person, not just the account: a banned phone number (and Aadhaar, if verified) can't be used for a new account, and deleting the account doesn't lift it.

Reports from other users, and automatic checks, may hold content back until it is reviewed.

If you think we got it wrong, write to support@ghatna.in.

Legal

We may share information with authorities when Indian law requires it (see the privacy policy).

To the extent the law allows, Ghatna isn't liable for indirect losses or for decisions people make based on what they see in the app.

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

When these terms change, we will ask you to accept the new version before you can continue.
