Grievance policy

Last updated 6 October 2026

Who handles complaints

Ghatna has a Grievance Officer under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Their name, email and postal address are shown below and in the app under You → Help and support.

How to raise a grievance

In the app: You → Help and support → Raise a grievance, or from any post: ••• → Report. Pick what it is about, describe it, and send.

By email or post to the Grievance Officer. We record it with the date it arrived, and the same timelines apply.

You can raise a grievance about content on the app, your privacy or personal data, a moderation decision about you (for example, a removed post or a suspended account), your account, or anything else about the service.

What happens next

We acknowledge every grievance at once, with a reference number, and in any case within 24 hours.

We resolve it within 7 days of receiving it, and tell you the outcome and the reason.

Intimate images of you shared without your consent: the content is hidden as soon as you tell us, and reviewed within 2 hours.

Unlawful content: we act within 36 hours.

You can follow your grievance and add details in the app under You → My grievances. Content a grievance is about is preserved for the legal record, even if it is later deleted.

If you are not satisfied

You can appeal the Grievance Officer's decision to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India, within 30 days of receiving it, at gac.gov.in.

Privacy complaints can also be taken to the Data Protection Board of India once you have used this process.

Government and court orders

Orders from a court or an authorised government agency to remove content are acted on within the time the law requires, currently 3 hours.
